Honestly the easiest way to keep deer out is to mix a few strategies. Deer-resistant plants help, but they’ll still nibble if they’re hungry. The two things that actually work long-term are physical barriers (even a low, decorative fence can break their pattern) and scent deterrents like Liquid Fence or Plantskydd. Motion sprinklers work surprisingly well too. If you want something low-maintenance, build your design around plants like lavender, rosemary, salvia, or ornamental grasses — deer usually skip those.
