Best alternatives: DG / gravel (looks clean + super low water) native/med plants like lavender, salvia, yarrow, rosemary, santolina succulents + agave for structure and if you still want green: small patch of DG + stepping stones or drought-tolerant groundcover instead of lawn You’ll get the same modern look with way less watering + maintenance.
