I love this house!!! In my opinion, it just needs a little "structure" at the entrance. I'm thinking: evergreen shrubs for the structure + a couple of flowering perennials for color, with mulch or stones to control weeds. You could also repurpose a small bistro set and "extend" the porch ambiance with string lights; that alone makes the entrance feel much more inviting.
