    that’s going to be gorgeous once it fills in. With zone 9b, I’d just be a little strategic with placement so the higher-water stuff doesn’t struggle... I’d keep dogwood / redbud / azaleas / hosta closer to the house or in the shadier/cooler spots (they’ll appreciate protection), and use the more heat-proof plants like desert willow, crepe myrtles, russian sage, succulents out in the open sunny areas.
