This bed has dry shade and root competition from the bay tree. Can anyone advise if this looks sensible or am I wasting my time? This is what I'm considering: Sarcococca confusa (at the back) Dryopteris wallichiana (the big ferns) Anemone × hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' (for bright flowers) Geranium macrorrhizum 'Ingwersen's Variety' (for ground cover) Liriope muscari 'Monroe White' (at the front) Asplenium scolopendrium (for architectural interest) Bergenia (more ground cover)
