Using photo of my house let's create a front yard landscape plan with a rustic, winding Central stairway to front door from sidewalk to porch. House is 45' feet wide. Distance from street to porch is 20' feet with 3' foot elevation. Let's make this a symmetrical but casual plan. Maybe use 1 terraced bed with perennial shrubs for solid anchored winter appearance and a flowering tree near driveway. Include access path from driveway to front door. Zone 7a in St Louis Missouri and is full afternoon sun exposure

Hi! Your home already has a strong and welcoming porch that creates a beautiful horizontal line across the façade. The landscape design takes advantage of that by extending this horizontal composition with soft terraced planting beds that follow the grade change. The new curved central stair introduces movement and creates a natural, inviting approach to the front door, giving the main entrance a clear sense of arrival and hierarchy, while the secondary connection from the driveway remains more subtle and functional. To anchor the composition and provide year-round interest, I’m proposing an ornamental tree near the driveway. Great options for this location and sun exposure are Eastern Redbud (native and vibrant spring bloom), Serviceberry (flowers, berries and fall color), or Kousa Dogwood for a more architectural look. The terraced beds will be built with natural stone or a rustic-faced block to frame the entry sequence, manage the slope, and add visual depth to the front yard.
