What can I do with the front of my house on both sides to keep it a low maintenance bed but add a bit of color and design? The front of the house stays shaded in the right corner but the rest get sun in the afternoon.

    Adding some low growing shrubs or ground cover that are native to Virginia. They would be easy to care for since they’re native to the climate and soil. Perhaps in the corner try this shrub Aronia arbutifolia and on the ground cover check out Creeping Phlox.
