I would like to remove the trees on the front lawn, install a walkway from the front door to the sidewalk near the mailbox and also install new landscaping along the front walkway.

That front yard is begging for a strong walkway axis connecting the door to the mailbox will instantly make it feel “designed.” Do a simple bed on both sides of the new path: evergreen structure (boxwood/holly) + seasonal color at the edges. Keep it symmetrical so it looks expensive even if it’s not.
